GOOD SAMARITANS

GoodSamaritan.jpgThis apostolate was initiated in January, 1998, and has over two hundred parishioners participating. Its purpose is to provide food to families of recently deceased parishioners. It allows the loving presence of the Church to come into the homes of those who grieve. It also gives our parish family an opportunity to let people know that the Church loves them and wants them to be a part of our Sunday worship.

There are three teams. When the chairman of a team is notified, she contacts ten people to bring food to her home. The chairman is then responsible for delivering the food to the family of the deceased.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Good Samaritan Apostolate, you may contact any of the following:

Abbie McNulty (337) 828-0719

Ruby LeBlanc (337) 828-5444

Edith Randazzo (337) 828-3581

Cora Bouton (337) 828-1429

Hazel Huffman (337) 828-1680

OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS

OffertoryGiftBearers.jpgAs a way of involving more people in the liturgy, we encourage families to bring up the offertory gifts at the weekend Masses, excluding Sunday 7:00 a.m. This is especially done during the liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.

Perhaps you might consider participating in this apostolate, particularly on special weekends that mark significant events in your life, such as anniversaries and birthdays (including those of deceased loved ones). Give the rectory office a call at least a week before the designated weekend on which you wish to participate. (337) 828-3869
