Parish Council
The Parish Council members are elected by parishioners to serve a two-year term.
The council meets regularly to offer advice and guidance in both the physical and spiritual running of the parish.
Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus Council 1420 was founded in 1910. There are presently 131 members and the council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. The goals and purposes of the Knights of Columbus are:
a.) rendering monetary aid to its members, their families and beneficiaries of members and their families;
b.) rendering mutual aid and assistance to its sick, disabled and needy members and their families;
c.) promoting social and intellectual welfare among its members and their families;
d.) promoting and conducting educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and welfare, and public relief work.

Ladies Altar Society
The Ladies Altar Society of the Church of the Assumption was founded in 1852. There are approximately 165 members. The meetings are held four times a year, on the third Monday of the months of March, June, September and December.
The purpose of the Altar Society is to obtain and maintain necessities for the altar and sacristy of the Church. A quilt raffle and Mother's Day flower sale are held each year to provide funds for the organization.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas
Court Assumption No. 1672
Founded: April 11, 1954
Presently there are 161 members, but of that number, approximately 45 - 50 are active members.
The meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month for 10 months of the year. There are no meetings in July and August.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is the largest women's organization in the United States. Their motto is Unity and Charity. They lend a helping hand to the Church parish and area Catholic schools. They also assist the city and the community by giving of their time and money for charitable projects. They assist at the nursing home for weekly Masses. They volunteer as Pink Lady volunteers at the hospital and host the Food Net Drive.
Each year the Catholic Daughters are involved in sending donated items to missions under the Project Handclasp Program. This past year they collected and packaged over 585 pounds of supplies, including clothes, medical and personal hygiene supplies, sewing notions, toys and treadle sewing machines. The Catholic Daughters also promote spiritual and social awareness of our Catholic faith by working hand in hand with the CCD program and filling in at the schools for religious and academic programs as teachers and workers. They donate to local, as well as state and national charitable organizations.

Choir
The Church of the Assumption Adult Choir dates back as long as anyone can remember. There are currently 17 members in the choir and they meet for practice each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The goal of the choir is to provide music for prayerful liturgies and to support the congregation in participation in the liturgy.
The choir usually sings for the Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass. The choir also sings for all Holy Days of Obligation as well as the Easter Triduum and special liturgies throughout the year. In addition to these liturgical settings, the choir participates in the Lessons and Carols Christmas Concert presented on the third Sunday of Advent with the other parish and school choirs.
Past directors of the choir include, Jack Shinn, Jim Burton, Sister Mary Adelaide, Father Bill Ganacheau, Renee Stirling and Clay Boudreaux. The current choir director and organist is Karen Minor.

Handbell Choir
The Church of the Assumption Handbell Choir was founded in 1984. The choir belongs to the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Inc., which is a nonprofit organization to promote the art of English Handbell ringing. The ringers are dedicated to advancing the musical art of ringing during the liturgies and on special occasions in the Church and the community. The choir presently has twelve members. Practices are held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Church. Anyone interested in joining the handbell choir can contact Renee Stirling, director, at (337) 828-5016.
Servers
Altar Servers assist at the weekend Masses. When students reach the fourth grade, they become eligible to serve.

Ushers
The ministry of usher is one of welcome and ensures the smooth running of the weekend collections. Several of the ushers have been serving for many, many years, which evidences their spirit of dedication to the Church.
