YOUTH/VOCATIONS
The primary focus of youth ministry at the Church of the Assumption lies in an effort to make our CCD program and our two Catholic schools strong and vibrant. Much effort is spent maintaining a lively catholicity and ensuring that the children of the parish and schools get the best religious education possible. Our sacramental programs (First Communion and Confirmation) are filled with fun and spiritual activities. There are also several youth activities scheduled throughout the year which are open to all youth of the Franklin area. Summer Day Camp, a week of fun and faith usually held in the month of July, and Youth Club Night, a huge "Jesus" pep rally held in the Hanson School Gym on a quarterly basis, are but two of these events.
Club Night
Club Night is a Jesus Pep Rally held at Hanson 4 times a year. Students from the area schools participate in games, skits and sing Jesus songs. There is also a drama by the Hanson Campus Ministry Team followed by an inspirational talk by a campus minister or one of the area priests.
Academic Pep Rally
An Academic Pep Rally was held at Hanson with the intention of motivating students during this school year by showing the success of students in previous years and to raise awareness about what awards they could achieve. The spirit-filled rally was fun for all. There was a prize patrol, a mini parade where throws were tossed to the audience and many skits which delighted all. The teachers participated by being different characters and they awarded the students many different prizes for their academic achievements.
