ABOUT THE DEACON

Reverend Mr. Douglas Hebert was ordained to the permanent diaconate on June 25, 1977 by the Most Reverend Gerard L. Frey, third bishop of Lafayette. This was the first permanent diaconate ordination in the history of the Diocese of Lafayette. Deacon Hebert is married to the former Dolores Dupre and is the father of three children: Scott, Monique and Mitzi. Deacon Hebert's ministry includes RCIA, Communion visitations to the shut-ins, a weekly Come Lord Jesus Bible study group, and the weekly Sacred Heart Enthronement apostolate.

OFFICE STAFF

Mrs. Elaine Theriot is our secretary/bookkeeper. Elaine began work at Church of Assumption in 1995. She and her husband, Howard are the parents of one
daughter, Opal.

Darlene Scelfo serves as Director of Religious Education. She organizes and runs Assumption's catechetical program, including First Communion, Confirmation, CCD classes, and Summer Day Camp. Darlene came to Assumption in
1997.

CUSTODIAN/SACRISTAN

Mr. Perry Lowery began working as custodian for the Church of the Assumption in 1994.
His duties include yard upkeep and Church sacristan.

HOUSEKEEPER/COOK

Mrs. Barbara Ardoin began work at the Church of the Assumption in 1996. She provides meals and a clean home for the Pastor. She's a great cook!
