EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Administrator, Tuesday 17 June 2014 - 07:16:05

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, also called Eucharistic Ministers, are laypersons that have been given the special privilege of assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass. This is a very special apostolate within any Church community because of the special nature of the Sacrament of the Eucharist, the body, blood, soul and divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Consequently, specific guidelines must be followed as set forth by the Bishop of the diocese. In addition to assisting at Mass, many Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound in the parish.
